Fairer School Funding

On a per-student basis, Mississauga and Peel are underfunded by the Province of Ontario. We need a strong advocate at the school board to fight for our share of education funding, and I am up for the challenge.

Turning to private fund-raising efforts like selling candy and magazine subscriptions is not an adequate solution to funding shortfalls. Education is an essential part of a healthy society and children should be focused on learning, not selling.

Although governments at all levels are experiencing increased fiscal restraint, further cut-backs to education cannot be an option.
