My sincere thanks to everyone who voted, and to all those who helped out with the campaign. The results are now in, and almost 3,700 voters cast a ballot for Andrew Hamilton-Smith.

Even a month ago, I would have thought this was impossible, and it is definitely nothing to scoff at. Meeting many residents, learning about what issues they care about, and just feeling so much support from everyone has made this campaign a positive experience for me. Was it worth it in the end? Definitely yes.

In a way, I am glad to be getting back to my family, my education, and my television station. A campaign does tend to put everything else on hold in a candidate’s life, and I would like to thank my wife especially for being so patient and supportive.

However, I must also thank my parents for their unquestioning support – never once did I hear “no” pass either of their lips. I would like to thank Julie and Catherine for their advice and driving me onwards. Also, my sincere thanks to Pat Mullin for taking an interest in my campaign.

The question remains as to what to do with this website, however…any ideas?
